Slow Internet connection:

The actual speed of your Telefonica Movistar ADSL service in Spain is affected by factors beyond the control of Movistar, such as the distance to your telephone exchange and the condition of cabling.

If your Movistar Internet speed seems unusually slow, step through the checklist below to diagnose the problem.

# During these first ten days you may notice some variations in speed and your connection may be intermittent at times – this is normal. Please keep your Hub turned on 24/7 as this helps Movistar to get the maximum information about your line's performance, so they can select the best settings for your connection.

 

1. Turn your modem off and then back on again regularly

Most Internet connectivity problems can be solved by turning the modem off and then back on again. Turn your modem off, wait 1 minute and then turn it back on. After waiting 45 seconds to allow the modem to synchronize with the server, try reconnecting to the Internet.
Note: If your modem doesn't have an on/off switch, unplug the modem instead of turning it off.

 

2: Use the cable provided to connect your PC/ Laptop device directly to the router

4. Make sure filters are installed

Filters must be installed on every telephone device that shares the telephone line with your Movistar High Speed Internet. If filters are missing, you may experience reduced DSL speeds as well as static or hissing on the telephone line.
